Each tax year will be recalculated if you enter a claim. This often identifies other overpayments due to incorrect tax codes, multiple employments, ceasing of job, etc. In these cases we can identify a much larger tax rebate. We regularly identify rebates of over £1,000 for customers who were originally estimated a lower amount.

If you claim now you will receive tax relief for the current tax year and future years that allowances continue to apply, paid through your monthly pay. The value of this is usually £{{ App.CustomerClaim.AnnualRefund }} per year.

You don’t need to make any upfront payment to us in order for us to check if you are due a rebate.

We will ensure that your current year reliefs are correct and that your future year allowances are adjusted in line with the current year to ensure you are no longer being overtaxed. There will be no charge for this service.

The annual saving of £{{ App.CustomerClaim.AnnualRefund }} per year for the current and future years will not be subject to charge. You will receive this automatically in your pay once your tax code has been adjusted.

We will also check the earlier years to determine if you can claim back any previously overpaid tax. HMRC will pay any rebate due directly to us and we will forward payment to you, in due course, net of our deductions of 28%, plus VAT, where due, providing the net refund payment is £20 or more.

We will issue your refund through our Uniform Benefits payment card which you can withdraw cash on at a cashpoint or spend in shops or online like a normal debit card. If you use your card at selected retailers you can also earn additional cashback to continue to spend.

Chartered Society of Physiotherapy - Healthcare Worker Tax Rebate

Gone are the days when a professional footballer who suffers a head injury on the pitch will be allowed to carry on heroically in the heat of a league match or cup tie – or even in a training session. Instead of the player or manager making the decision to continue, physiotherapists and doctors will have the final say – so says the Football League.

To coincide with the start of the new football season, the League has published a new set of medical rules about the treatment of head injuries stating that players must now leave the pitch before any decision is made about their condition.

The new rule has been welcomed by The Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP). Geoff Scott, head physio at Tottenham Hotspur, said: ‘'In the heat of the moment the decision of the manager and the player’s willingness to continue have sometimes outweighed medical advice. But this will no longer happen, which is a positive step for the wellbeing of our players.

“Once concussion is suspected, a player should be removed from the pitch for further observation and assessment and under no circumstance should they return to play on that day.”

On a political rather than a sporting note, the CSP – the UK’s professional, educational and trade union body with more than 52,000 members, including chartered physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and support workers – was quick to respond to comments by Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt and the Department of Health about the expansion of physician associate roles in the NHS.

CSP chief executive, Prof Karen Middleton, said: “We recognise the need to innovate to ensure that finite NHS resources are well used and this can include the emergence of new roles and ways of working.
“However, physiotherapists already assess, diagnose and treat patients without supervision and have proven their ability to do this across a number of settings. Advanced practitioners who have undertaken further training are also now able to independently prescribe medicines without the supervision of a doctor.

“So there is a workforce already available to the health service and they must be given greater opportunity to assist the work done by doctors and ease the pressure on the system. This means allowing patients to self-refer, rather than first seeing a GP, to provide quicker treatment and reduce the number of people waiting for an appointment at their local surgery.

“It means properly commissioning community physiotherapy services that keep people out of hospital by providing rehabilitation, supporting people with long-term conditions to self-manage, and preventing falls.
“And it means ensuring physiotherapists are central to integrated services that enable people to live independently and reduced the demand on health and social care budgets.

Just as the NHS is constantly reviewing its resources, it is essential that physiotherapists make the most of their hard-earned income in the form of securing tax relief on their fees and make use of professional allowances – such as uniform laundry and equipment.
